21161. Indio Networks introduces fully Indian manufactured WiFi access points for enabling Public WiFi hotspots under PM WANI Program
- Indio Networks, a homegrown Indian data networking products company, today released a new line of indigenously manufactured, enterprise-grade WiFi Access Points. Indio's enterprise-grade Access Points are specially engineered to support various Public WiFi development initiatives like PM-WANI and WiFi Choupal which require the latest generation, secure and affordable networking products. Built on patented technology, the access points support high user density and seamless WiFi connectivity in tough Indian conditions.
- They deliver a throughput of 1267 Mbps and can support 256 users at a time, with advanced security features to ensure that user data is securely transmitted over the WiFi connection. All devices are fully compliant with Indian regulatory requirements as mandated by the Department of Telecommunications
- Indio Networks has developed WiOS, a next-generation WiFi management software that is used to configure, manage and monitor these access points over the Cloud. With simple Plug-n-Play, the Access Points can be deployed by anyone, without requiring technical know-how of complex RF and WiFi technology. Optimized for video streaming, people can seamlessly perform audio/video calls, online presentations and office work over WiFi.
21162. Railway coaches to be 100% Made in India by 2022 end
- The railway ministry has set the December 2022 target to achieve 100% indigenous manufacturing of all rail coaches by ending dependence on imports from countries, including China Sources said in recent years the Indian Railways’ import component of manufacturing parts have reduced steadily and now it’s around 1.6% of total value of items.
- They said efforts have been undertaken to reduce this share of imports further and some of the last few remaining items like wheels and axles are now going to be fully manufactured in India.
- “Steps have been taken to indigenize forged wheel manufacturing through SAIL, Durgapur and Forged Wheel Plant of RINL being set up at Raebareli. Indian Railways have entered into an assured off-take contract with the Forged Wheel Plant of RINL for 80,000 wheels per annum that encouraged them to set up this plant. It is scheduled for commissioning shortly,” said an official
21163. Swadeshi HANSA-NG trainer aircraft with advanced features rolled out in Bengaluru
- CSIR National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) rolled out its HANSA-NG (Next Generation) aircraft at the aircraft hangar at the Belur campus. The all-composite HANSA-NG, certified in 2000 by the DGCA under the JAR-VLA category, has been revitalised to cater to the demand for trainer aircraft.
- The trainer aircraft is equipped with IFR-compliant avionics with smart multi-functional displays, a glass cockpit and a bubble canopy design. The selection of a highly efficient digitally controlled Rotax 912 ISC engine with superior performance increased the range and endurance.
- The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) signed an MoU with CSIR-NAL as a launch customer of HANSA-NG for pilot training. They will pick up the first five aircraft, said Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation Amber Dubey.

- Hyundai announced that it has sold over 10 lakh made in India SUVs in the domestic and export markets. The company also noted that over 9 lakh made-in-India SUVs were sold in the last five years.

21165. Megha Engineering's first Make in India oil rig begins operation
- Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) said its first indigenously-made oil drilling rig has started operation at Kalol oil fields in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The rig, which became operational , is part of an order worth Rs 6,000 crore for 47 drilling rigs.
- MEIL is the first company in private sector to manufacture and use rigs used in oil and fuel extraction with advanced technology, a company statement said. As part of the Centre's Make in India programme, MEIL has manufactured these rigs for the first time in the country, it added.
- With a capacity of 1500 HP ( horse power) these rigs can easily dig oil wells up to 4000 meter (4 kilometers) depth from the ground surface. These rigs have a life span of about 40 years.

21166. Made-in-India PC and PSVR Game Down and Out Announced
- Indian studio Zatun has announced a VR beat 'em up game dubbed Down and Out. It is set for a May release date for Oculus VR headsets and Steam, and July for PlayStation VR. Down and Out boasts a free style fighting system that also allows players to freely explore the setting. According to Zatun, Down and Out's combat system has been tailored specially to be played in VR.
- The game's main setting is the seedy underbelly of a big city. Players take on th role of a homeless person who doesn't even have a penny to their name.
- Down and Out's story will play out through a series of story quests that will take the character from being a poor nobody to being powerful and infamous, according to Zatun.

21167. Made-In-India Honda CB350, 350RS to be exported: India to be Honda’s global export hub
- Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd has today announced their new overseas business expansion vertical. The brand wants to make-in-India and export their products to the world.
- This new overseas business vertical will be based out of Manesar and will effectively bring more than 100 associates together. This includes sales, purchase, quality, manufacturing, homologation as well as logistics.
- The export markets for Honda include south-east Asia, SAARC, Japan, Middle East, Latin and Central America, as well as Europe. Around 19 vehicle models are exported and the CB350 twins should add to these numbers. It is likely that Honda big bikes like the CBR650R as well as the CB650R might also be exported from here.

21169. Indian Army Inaugurates Its First Solar Plant In North Sikkim: Report
- The Indian Army recently established its first green solar energy plant, which has a capacity of 56 KVA (kilowatt-ampere), at an altitude of 16,000 feet in northern Sikkim. Public Relation Officer (Defence) of Guwahati, Lt Col P Khongsai, has revealed that this project was developed in a partnership with IIT Mumbai.
- A faculty of the esteemed institute worked in coordination with the soldiers stationed in Sikkim to complete the project in extremely hostile climatic conditions. The plant is deemed to be both environmentally friendly and also useful for the well-being of the army personnel deployed in the forward areas in the north-eastern state, Saur Energy reports.
- The Army has been making consistent progress in promoting renewable energy in its ranks in recent times. For example, a 1 MW solar power plant was launched at the Jalandhar cantonment on 22 April. Rs 5.16 crore was spent in constructing this plant that is built over five acres of land and is dedicated for the military hospital. 3176 Indian-origin solar panels in this project will produce 15 lakh units of electricity on an annual basis and enable the government to reduce its expenditure by around Rs 1 crore every year.

- भारतीय रेलवे ने अपने बेड़े में 12000 हॉर्स पावर के 100 वें डब्लूएजी 12बी इंजन को शामिल कर लिया. रेलवे के बेड़े में शामिल होने वाला यह 12000एचपी डबल्यूएजी 12बी का 100वां इंजन है. इसका नाम लोको को डब्लूएजी 12बी दिया गया है. भारत की सबसे बड़ी ग्रीन फील्ड विनिर्माण सुविधा में बना यह इंजन मेड इन इंडिया के तहत भारत का सबसे शक्तिशाली इलेक्ट्रिक इंजन है
- इस इंजन का निर्माण बिहार के मधेपुरा इलेक्ट्रिक लोकोमोटिव प्राइवेट लिमिटेड (MELPL) द्वारा किया गया है. यह इंजन अत्याधुनिक और उन्नत तकनीक के आईजीबीटी आधारित इंजन हैं, जिन्हें 3 चरणों के अभियान के अंतर्गत तैयार किया गया है. बिजली से चलने वाले इन इंजनों की क्षमता 12000 हॉर्स पावर की है. अधिक क्षमता वाले इन इंजनों के भारतीय रेल के बेड़े में शामिल होने से रेल मार्गों पर भीड़ कम होगी, क्योंकि इनकी औसत गति बेहतर है और यह अधिक लोड वाली मालगाड़ी को भी आसानी से खींच सकते हैं.
- इन इंजनों के चलते माल गलियारों पर तथा अन्य मार्गों पर माल गाड़ियों की भीड़ में कमी लाने में मदद मिलेगी, क्योंकि यह इंजन अधिक क्षमता में माल ढुलाई करने में सक्षम हैं. सामान्य इंजनों की गति से अधिक रफ्तार से चलने वाले इन इंजनों को भारतीय रेलवे के सभी डिवीजन में लगाया गया है. डबल्यूएजी 12बी ई-लोको अब तक 48 लाख किलोमीटर का सफर तय कर चुके हैं. देश के 17 राज्यों तथा 2 केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में विभिन्न आवश्यक वस्तुओं को पहुंचा चुके हैं. पहला 12000 हॉर्स पावर का इलेक्ट्रिक लोकोमोटिव भारत में बिहार स्थित मधेपुरा इलेक्ट्रिक लोको फैक्ट्री में निर्मित हुआ था और 18 मई 2020 को इसे भारतीय रेलवे के पंडित दीनदयाल उपाध्याय जंक्शन स्टेशन पर सेवा में शामिल किया गया था.
